Personal Biography:

Somenath Mukherjee completed his Bachelor’s degree in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Calcutta and his Master’s degree from AYJNIHH (ERC), Kolkata, under the West Bengal University of Health Sciences (WBUHS). He is an RCI (Rehabilitation Council of India) registered professional and a registered member of the Indian Speech and Hearing Association (ISHA), Mysore, reflecting his commitment to maintaining high professional and ethical standards. He has previously served as the President of the Indian Speech and Hearing Association, West Bengal Chapter, and has authored and contributed to several scientific journal publications. His contributions to Audiology, Speech-Language Pathology, and entrepreneurship have been widely recognised.

With a distinguished clinical career spanning over 20 years, he has worked as a Consultant Audiologist and Speech-Language Pathologist at reputed institutions such as Woodlands Hospital, Belle Vue Clinic, Peerless Hospital, and Apollo Hospitals, Kolkata. He has received more than 18 professional awards for contributions to Audiology, Speech-Language Pathology and for his unique entrepreneurship journey in the speech and hearing healthcare industry. He is a trained FEES and VitalStim certified dysphagia specialist. He is the first Audiologist and Speech-Language Pathologist in India who received venture capital funding for his outstanding track record in entrepreneurship in the speech and hearing healthcare industry.

In addition to his clinical expertise, he has been actively involved in the entrepreneurial ecosystem, serving as an ex-Charter Member of TiE and an ex-Committee member of the Entrepreneurship wing of the Bengal Chamber of Commerce. In 2006, he co-founded Hearing Plus and Speech Plus along with a team of ten professionals.

• B.A.S.R. (Bachelor of Audiology & Speech Rehabilitation) from the University of Calcutta in the year of 2004.
• MASLP (Master of Audiology & Speech Language Pathology) from West Bengal University of Health Sciences in the year 2008.
